El Pájaro es Libre
El Pájaro (The Bird) is a metaphor for my son. In fact, most of the crows in my paintings are a symbol of him. I painted this just after he graduated from college and got a job in Seattle. He flew the nest. He was free to pursue his life and for me, I was an empty nester. We were both free. It was a new chapter for us and I was eager to see how it would all unfold. Launched. Raising children... It is bittersweet to see them fly away. That’s us, my son and I in the boat.
