Armed with a Masters Degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Bob worked several years as an Art Director with Benton & Bowles,
a prominent Chicago Advertising firm.
After moving to San Francisco, he worked as a designer for companies such as Apple Computer, Clement Mok Designs, and Esprit de Corp.
He founded Maus Haus, an award-winning design company focused on developing and designing interactive new media applications.
Maus Haus was sold in 1997, after which Bob served as the Vice President of Design for The Interactive Bureau under Roger Black.
He has also held positions as the Creative Director for Organic Online and other companies.
Bob has taught classes alongside April Grieman at the Academy of Art University and has conducted classes in the Multimedia
Studies Program at San Francisco State University. Bob was an Adjunct Professor at California State University, East Bay.
He has hosted numerous developer workshops and has been a speaker at various conferences, including the HOW Design Conference,
MacWorld Expo, Seybold, WEB98/2000, COMDEX, Rick Tharp's THCTJHTBIPC conference in Park City, Builder.com, UDA/Edgewise,
and Web Design World. Additionally, he has served as a judge for the New Media Invision Awards.
With over fifteen years of teaching experience, Bob taught Experience Design in the Graphic Design and New Media Departments at the
Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He has developed several online courses, including
"Branding on the Web (Nature of Interaction)" taught both graduate and undergraduate classes and served as an advisor in the
Graduate Department, mentoring students on their final thesis projects.
Before retiring, Bob taught for five years at California State University, East Bay (CSUEB)
